Since this bloody thing crapped out on me the first time, I'm trying it again. If it happens again, I think I'm going to have to bang my box upside the "head".
Books books books. I hit Value Village today to get some books, thinking I could save some money and get them for 50 cents or so but was I ever wrong! I paid as much as if I had gone to my local used bookstore! I need to keep an eye out for garage sales to get some good deals. Hopefully the weather will hold out enough for at least another 1 good weekend of hunting.
I still have to register these books for the big release on Sunday. We're meeting at the Orca which is at Library Square. This is a great picture of it. It's great that the weather is going to be good. I would hate to have to bag all my books...looks like fate's on our side this time! :)
Ok. So as I was saying to myself before, I'm really upset with Dan - my partner of 7 years (we've been living together for 4). He came home from work today and asked me what my plans where for tomorrow. I explained that I wasn't doing anything because I hadn't budgeted any money for going out this week. He got all in a huffy and wanted to know why I couln'd afford to go out considering that I just got paid today. I explained that I paid the cable bill which, I should add, was already three months past due. He got all upset and asked me why I didn't just pay half of the bill. Then I started getting defensive and told him I felt bad that we were that far behind especially considering that the bill is under my dad's name. At this point he mumbled something I couldn't hear and then said he couldn't wait until things got settled so we "can leave this place". This really, REALLY pissed me off. After all, my parents have us here for almost free. It's not like they don't need the money, after all, they need this extra income to make ends meet. To boot, what has his family ever done for him? It's not like anyone offered to help us out when we needed it! The only people to offer where my parents. Sure, his dad did (and does) give him money once in a while to help him through but that's it. This makes me upset because I'm happy to be so close to my parents and I thought Dan liked it too but now, I'm not so sure. To boot, I don't want to be far from my family and he doesn't seem to get that. He says he gets it but sometimes, I'm not so sure.
Some background info about Dan so you don't think he's some bum. He had a really great job that he lost almost 3 years ago when the company went out of business. After looking for work and not finding anything "really good", I managed to convince him to go back to school. Since he's "Mr. Computer Doctor", he took a IT certificate program. After graduation, he looked for work for 8 months while I supported us. When I couldn't manage anymore, I asked my parents if we could move in and they happily agreed to help their "little girl". Thanks mom and dad! :D
I think that's enough bitching about that for today. I just needed to vent it all out. Again!
Have to go update "the site" again.
