Filling the abyss...one entry at a time

Welcome to my canyon...

Welcome to the place where I share. Word of warning to begin with, I consider myself an intelligent individual, but occasionally I collapse into a not so intelligent personna. Happy reading...

An entry a month...gotta do better than that
10.28.04 (8:18 pm)

It's been a while since the last entry and lots has happened but here are the highlights:

  • I've been accepted at Dougy Daycare and I start classes in January. Received my registration info today and I'm excited. Looks good.

  • Met my cuz's new gf. She's fabulous and even set me up with a job for the xmas season. Good thing too. I need the $$ to pay for school. I also need to start looking for a part time job for when I'm going to school but I'll worry about that after the holidays.

  • Started bike riding at least 3 times a week. OK. So I only started this week but I've promised myself I have to do this. I really need to shed  a few lbs.

  • I've been reading at work. I don't just mean 'glancing' at my book I mean actually reading more than working. They kept telling me to slow down but I relaly couldn't work any slower so I started reading and now I read more than I work. It's not all too bad though, I've read more books in the last 3 weeks than I usually do in 3 months.

  • Went driking with my cuz on Saturday night. We where going to go to the Cambie but we couldn't be bothered to wait in line for 30 mins so we went to some club around the corner. It was awesome. I loved it. Had a few drinks, danced a little came home at 4am which is unheard of for me. Oh well... all in good fun.

That's pretty much it. Uneventfull I know, pretty sad. But it's getting better! Time to jet. Gotta go to bed soon.

Where did the last 2 weeks go???
10.08.04 (12:54 am)

Not sure what happened to the time but in the blink of an eye, two weeks seem to have dissappeared. The release went well. I released a lot of books but so far I've only had 2 catches. :( It's ok though, I had a great time! I didn't see anyone I knew - they all arrived and left  before I ever got to the meeting place but it was still fun. I even managed to catch the slam poetry performance (something that I've wanted to see for a while) and am intrigued. I'd love to try it for myself at some point but for now, I'm happy just watching. I'm going to try to convince a few friends to come with me to a performance.  We'll see....

Yesterday I participated in the open house at the Portuguese Benevolent Society in Gastown. As a member of the youth group, I volunteered to do a reading in Portuguese. I was very, very nervous. Not only has it been a long time since I've done any sort of public speaking but to boot, this was in Portuguese! It was frightning! Thankfully, it went off without a hitch! I think we also managed to raise a lot of $$ for the society which is always a great thing too. I'm glad Dan came with me. My mom was going to come and, as usual, she bailed at the last minute. I know that she's not always up to par but I really wished she could have been there. She's never seen me "perform". I was disappointed but I'm not sure she even noticed. Instead, of having here  there, I had Dan, who only understood half of the bloody thing but at least he was a good sport and managed to have a good time.

I think I'm going to watch TV for a bit longer and then I'm going to head off to bed. If I can manage to get Dan off before me, I may get to go out for a quick smoke before I head off to bed. I'm really craving tonight.
